A licensed operator, not a reseller
Exotic Asia Holidays has traded since 2010 under company registration 898289M, MATTA membership MA3643 and Tourism Ministry licence KPL/LN/6245. The vehicle is ours and the guide works for us, so the person you message is the person running your tour.
We publish the free option too
The KTM Komuter from KL Sentral costs RM 2.60 one way and takes 30 to 40 minutes, and the terminus faces the temple entrance. It is on this site in full. If that suits you better than paying us, take it.
The temple explained, not just photographed
Our guides cover Lord Murugan, the Vel and what the shrines are actually for. Most visitors climb 272 steps, take a photograph and leave without any of that, and it is the part people remember afterwards.

The Dark Cave has been closed to the public since 2019, yet plenty of sites still sell it at RM 35. We publish hours, prices and closure status as they actually are, so you arrive with the right expectations.
The 272 steps, stated before you pay
There is no lift, no ramp and no alternative route to Temple Cave. We put that on the tour page rather than in the small print, because it is the most common reason a booking turns out to be the wrong fit.

The 272 rainbow steps
The climb to Temple Cave is 272 steps up the face of a limestone hill, with no lift and no ramp. It is steep, there are landings to rest on, and most reasonably mobile people manage it by going slowly. We say all of that before you book rather than after, because it is the one detail that decides whether a visit works for your group.

The temple, explained by a licensed guide
The 42.7 metre statue at the foot of the stairs is Lord Murugan, a Tamil Hindu deity, and the golden spear he holds is the Vel. Inside the cave, the shrines are working shrines with people worshipping at them. The Dark Cave has been closed to the public since 2019.
Plenty of blogs and unofficial guides still advertise it, and some still quote an RM 35 ticket. That is out of date. What is open: the free Temple Cave, the ticketed Ramayana Cave (RM 15) and Cave Villa (RM 15, RM 7 with MyKad). We would rather you arrive with the right expectations than a nice surprise we can't deliver.

It's worth it for short-stopover visitors, families, and anyone who wants the temple explained and the logistics handled. Entry to the main Temple Cave is free and the site is 30-40 minutes from KL Sentral by KTM (RM 2.60), so if you're comfortable navigating that independently, you don't need us, and we say so.
What is the dress code at Batu Caves? expand_more
Shoulders and knees must be covered for both men and women, enforced more strictly for women. Sarong rental is RM 10-15 at the entrance if you arrive underdressed.
How many steps are there, and is there a lift? expand_more
There are 272 steps up to Temple Cave, with no lift, ramp or alternative route. They're steep but have landings to rest on, so assess your group's mobility honestly before booking.
Is the Dark Cave open? expand_more
No. The Dark Cave has been closed to the public since 2019. Sites listing it as open or charging RM 35 are out of date. The free Temple Cave, plus the ticketed Ramayana Cave and Cave Villa (RM 15 each), remain open.

Complimentary hotel pickup is included within 10 km of the Petronas Twin Towers, covering KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Chow Kit, Bangsar, Mid Valley and KL Sentral. Areas beyond that radius (Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Ampang, Cheras) are served on surcharge, or you meet at Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
